HEAVEN'S THRONE ROOM

John's Vision of Heaven's Throne room.    Rev. 4:2-11
John, in his Vision in Revelation, uses the language of Isaiah 6:1-6 and Ezekiel 1:5-10.

“In the year that King Uzziah died, I saw the Lord sitting on a throne, high and lifted up, and the train of His robe filled the temple. 2 Above it stood seraphim; each one had six wings: with two he covered his face, with two he covered his feet, and with two he flew. 3 And one cried to another and said: "Holy, holy, holy is the Lord of hosts; The whole earth is full of His glory!" 4 And the posts of the door were shaken by the voice of him who cried out, and the house was filled with smoke. 5 So I said: "Woe is me, for I am undone! Because I am a man of unclean lips, And I dwell in the midst of a people of unclean lips; For my eyes have seen the King, The Lord of hosts." 6 Then one of the seraphim flew to me, having in his hand a live coal which he had taken with the tongs from the altar. 7 And he touched my mouth with it, and said: "Behold, this has touched your lips; Your iniquity is taken away, And your sin purged."  Isaiah 6:1-7 (NKJV)

“Then I looked, and behold, a whirlwind was coming out of the north, a great cloud with raging fire engulfing itself; and brightness was all around it and radiating out of its midst like the color of amber, out of the midst of the fire. 5 Also from within it came the likeness of four living creatures. And this was their appearance: they had the likeness of a man. 6 Each one had four faces, and each one had four wings. 7 Their legs were straight, and the soles of their feet were like the soles of calves' feet. They sparkled like the color of burnished bronze. 8 The hands of a man were under their wings on their four sides; and each of the four had faces and wings. 9 Their wings touched one another. The creatures did not turn when they went, but each one went straight forward. 10 As for the likeness of their faces, each had the face of a man; each of the four had the face of a lion on the right side, each of the four had the face of an ox on the left side, and each of the four had the face of an eagle.”  Ezek 1:4-10 (NKJV)

The Throne Room of Heaven is the Command Center for all the events and action which proceed from there.  John is saying that the events happening are not out of God's hands, as they may appear to be to those who are suffering.  All that exists and all that occurs is subject to Christ on His heavenly throne.  That is why the 24 elders worship Christ saying, "You are worthy, O Lord, To receive glory and honor and power; For You created all things, And by Your will they exist and were created."
“Whenever the living creatures give glory and honor and thanks to Him who sits on the throne, who lives forever and ever, 10 the twenty-four elders fall down before Him who sits on the throne and worship Him who lives forever and ever, and cast their crowns before the throne, saying: 11 "You are worthy, O Lord, To receive glory and honor and power; For You created all things, And by Your will they exist and were created."  Rev 4:9-11 (NKJV)

“In the beginning was the Word, and the Word was with God, and the Word was God. 2 He was in the beginning with God. 3 All things were made through Him, and without Him nothing was made that was made. 4 In Him was life, and the life was the light of men.”  John 1:1-4 (NKJV)

“That which was from the beginning, which we have heard, which we have seen with our eyes, which we have looked upon, and our hands have handled, concerning the Word of life-- 2 the life was manifested, and we have seen, and bear witness, and declare to you that eternal life which was with the Father and was manifested to us-- 3 that which we have seen and heard we declare to you, that you also may have fellowship with us; and truly our fellowship is with the Father and with His Son Jesus Christ. 4 And these things we write to you that your joy may be full.”  1 John 1:1-4 (NKJV)

“For we did not follow cunningly devised fables when we made known to you the power and coming of our Lord Jesus Christ, but were eyewitnesses of His majesty. 17 For He received from God the Father honor and glory when such a voice came to Him from the Excellent Glory: "This is My beloved Son, in whom I am well pleased." 18 And we heard this voice which came from heaven when we were with Him on the holy mountain.”  2 Peter 1:16-18 (NKJV)

The glory and grandeur of John's Vision
I was caught up at once in deep worship
and, oh! — a Throne set in Heaven
with One Seated on the Throne,
shining in gem hues of amber and flame
with a rainbow of emerald.

Twenty-four thrones circled the Throne,
with Twenty-four Elders seated,
white-robed, gold-crowned.
Lightning flash and thunder crash
pulsed from the Throne.

Seven fire-blazing torches fronted the Throne
(these are the Sevenfold Spirit of God).
Before the Throne it was like a clear crystal sea.
Prowling around the Throne were Four Creatures,
who were full of eyes.

Eyes to look ahead, eyes to look behind.
The first Creature like a lion,
the second like an ox,
the third with a human face,
the fourth like an eagle in flight.
The Four Creatures were winged, each with six wings.
They were all eyes, seeing around and within.
And they chanted night and day, never taking a break:

        Holy, holy, holy
        Lord God Almighty, Sovereign-Strong,
Who Was, Who Is, Who is Coming.

Every time the Creatures gave glory and honor and thanks
to the One Seated on the Throne—
the age-after-age Living One—
the Twenty-four Elders would fall prostrate
before the One Seated on the Throne.
They worshipped the age-after-age Living One.
They cast their crowns at the foot of the Throne, chanting,

Worthy, O Master!  Yes, our God!
Take the glory! the honor! the power!
        For You created it all;

It was created because You wanted it so.
